General Booking Terms
These terms apply to accommodation and activities sold by Riverside Arctic Experience Oy / Ivalo River Camping (IVRC).
Version 1.0 · 5 November 2026
Booking and applicable terms
A booking becomes binding when it is confirmed in the booking channel or by IVRC in accordance with the terms presented before booking. An enquiry alone is not a confirmed booking. Check the confirmation and contact us promptly if any details are incorrect.
Product-specific and booking-channel terms presented before confirmation form part of the agreement and take precedence over these general terms in the event of a conflict. Mandatory consumer rights always apply.
Prices and payment
The total price, applicable taxes, any additional charges, payment methods and payment deadlines are shown in the booking channel or offer before confirmation. Follow the payment instructions provided for your booking. No cancellation fees or percentages are set by these general terms.
Changes and cancellations by the customer
The cancellation and amendment terms applicable to each booking are shown in the booking channel before the booking is confirmed and form part of the booking agreement. Request changes or cancellation through the channel used to book, or contact IVRC for assistance. Any refund depends on the applicable booking terms and mandatory law.
Accommodation for purposes other than residence and leisure services booked for a specific date or period are generally excluded from the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. This does not remove any cancellation rights under your booking terms or mandatory law.
Changes and cancellations by IVRC
IVRC may change or cancel an activity where necessary for safety, weather conditions, official orders or other compelling reasons preventing safe or lawful delivery. We will notify affected customers as soon as reasonably possible.
If the minimum number of participants announced for the activity before booking is not reached, IVRC may cancel the activity. In that case, the customer receives a full refund of the amount paid for the cancelled activity.
We may first offer another time or activity, but the customer is free to decline. If IVRC cancels the activity and the customer does not accept an alternative, the amount paid for that activity will be refunded in full without undue delay. A material change requires the customer’s agreement; if the customer declines and the booked activity cannot be provided, the same full refund applies. These terms do not limit other statutory remedies.
Customer responsibilities
Provide accurate booking and contact details, check the activity’s stated participation requirements, arrive at the agreed time and follow safety and staff instructions. Inform us in advance of circumstances relevant to safe participation, so we can assess suitability together. Treat other guests, property and nature with care. Liability for any damage is determined by applicable law.
Problems and complaints
Tell IVRC about any problem as soon as possible during the service so we can try to resolve it. Send any subsequent complaint to the contact email on this page, including your booking reference, a description of the issue and your requested remedy. This request does not restrict statutory complaint periods or rights.
Applicable law and consumer disputes
Finnish law applies. This choice does not deprive consumers of mandatory protection available under otherwise applicable law, including that of their country of habitual residence.
Please contact IVRC first to seek a solution. If the dispute remains unresolved, you may contact Finnish Consumer Advisory Services and then refer the matter to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board for a recommendation. Your right to bring the matter before a competent court remains unaffected.
