A snowmobile is one of the most memorable ways to experience winter in Lapland.
After meeting your guide and getting ready for the ride, you leave Ivalo River Village behind and head into the snowy landscape surrounding Ivalo. The journey takes you through Arctic nature, away from everyday traffic and into a world of snow, forest and open winter scenery.
There is time along the way to slow down, enjoy the surroundings and stop for photographs. The experience is not only about driving — it is about being outside in the Arctic landscape and seeing Lapland from a completely different perspective.
No previous snowmobile experience is needed. Before departure, your guide will explain how the snowmobile works and go through the safety instructions for the ride.
Season: 1 November 2026–31 May 2027. Scheduled time: 12:00–13:00 (local time in Finland). Prices per person: shared snowmobile (two people per snowmobile) €109; single driver €149; sleigh seat €79. Eight snowmobiles are available for guests, with up to 16 guests sharing in pairs. Each single driver uses one snowmobile, reducing the maximum number of guests. Eight additional sleigh seats are available simultaneously, for up to 24 guests in total. The guide tows the sleigh with a separate ninth snowmobile.
